The client wanted a new home of generous proportions wrapped around a swimming pool. The main criteria are that the living areas should open to covered outdoor entertaining areas and the swimming pool whilst using the entire available site effectively.  The corridor links the two wings providing glimpse of the pool as well as ample space for a gallery of family photographs.  The ground floor is a large semi open plan living areas with a study and partly open semi-formal lounge at the front.  As most other homes in the area are older style and single storey lightweight cottages a modern adaptation of a traditional building with conventional roof planes was considered most appropriate and the bulk of the building was broken by a variety of external claddings.
